Yep, that pretty much sums up Afghanistan. At least as far as I'm concerned. I know that there are other Soldiers in this place that would readily disagree with me. That's ok, I can only judge this place by my own experiances. Here's a run down of how I go through the typical day here.
1500: Wake up and put on PT uniform for the 1/4 mile walk to the shower.
1520: Pray taht I can at least find a shower with warm water.
1600: Put on ACUs and play on the comp for a little bit.
1700: Go to chow.
1720: Head out to the hanger.
1740: Get the change over brief.
1800: Conduct the PC meeting.
0015: Go back to chow.
0600: Give change over brief to day shift.
0700: Eat chow.
0730: Usually back to bed to start all over again when I wake up.
Seems like a fun and exciting life, does it not? This place obviously isn't anything like Korea. (I loved that place.) Its not like you can go downtown to see the sites, or even get a drink when you want to. There isn't really anything to do on your off time. Well, at least mine, since I'm a night shift person. There is a bazarre tht they have weekly here, but it starts a few hours after I rack out, and ends just as I wake up. Oh well. Though I do plan on hitting it before I go on mid-tour. That's about all from this dust bowl.
See ya'll later.
I have decided to reopen the Hut. I know its been a while, but I just had to have a place to vent my opinions. With our nation in hurting more than ever before, someone needs to say something, even if it is on a blog that no one reads. If you decide to post a comment, please find the post titled "The Rules", dated 11 SEP 2010, and read it.

I Know, I Know
Sorry that I haven't been updating very much since I got here. But, I have been a little bit on the busy side. I work 12 hour shifts, which isn't all that much more than back in the States, but, for some reason, I'm way more tired after duty than back home. I just get back to my hooch and go to bed. But, I have put aside some time today to give ya'll an update.
First off, cold weather sucks, and so does snow. It has been, for me, extremely cold. Most nights, when I work, it gets down to the negatives. Except for the past few nights, when it has actually gotten up to 35-40 degrees. But the warm temps were only so it could snow on us. We didn't have much when I got off of work 2 days ago, but when I got ready for work, we had gotten 14 inches of snow. (Yeah, yeah, I know to some of you 14 inches isn't anything to bat an eye at. But for me, its a disaster.) And of course, by the time for me to go to work, most of it had been compacted into a sheet of ice. And yes, I did bust my ass on the way to the chow hall. But only once.
We haven't been able to move any aircraft outside, or on the flight line, because of the ice. (Its actually quite funny to watch a tractor try to pull a Chinook, but just sliding left and right, not getting anywhere.) So work load has been nonexistant, the guys have been getting bored. ast night, one of them stuck a snowball in the pocket of my coat. I didn't find out till the next time I went out to smoke, and my coat was wet. So I stick my hand in there, and find what was left of the snowball. It wasn't much. And noone will admit to doing it. Hell, I thought it was pretty funny.
That's about it for here. In other news.......
Biz has had a bunch of good news recently. Him and the missus are expecting a new addiion to their family. And, he has graduated from his dive school at the top of his class. (I know it wasn't official yet, but I have faith in ya Biz.) And things are looking good for his dream job at NASA. He will be at home every night, and be training people in the water. For him, there isn't anything better for work. But, his bitch of an ex- has really been giving him the old long shaft. Those of you who know Biz know what is going on there. So I don't need to explain any further. I will say this however, I would love to run into her in a dark alley and no witnesses.
I don't have anything left for now, so....
I'll see ya'll later.
